TEHRAN -- The Iranian comedy actor of cinema and television Alireza Khamseh recalled that the late British comic actor Norman Wisdom was a good companion during the times of difficulties and disappointments of childhood.
“Norman belonged to the world of our childhood, a time of sadness and struggles in our lives that was too short,” reads part of the note Khamseh submitted to the Persian service of Fars.

It was reported on Monday that British comic actor Norman Wisdom, who played bumbling characters in slapstick films of the 1950s and 60s, died at the age of 95.

“The world of comedy lost one of its veterans. Our childhood was filled with sweet memories of watching films starring Norman.

“Whenever we wanted to laugh and forget our sorrows, we went to the cinema and watched films starring Norman Wisdom, Jerry Lewis or others like them,” it reads.

The note continues, “There is no way to escape death but how beautiful it is when someone dies and leaves sweet memoirs behind. And all the films starring Norman have no exceptions to this.

“His happy face always made us forget our little childhood concerns. His name and memory will remain with us for ever,” it concludes.
