This software is available only to owners of the book Geotechnical Engineering: Principles and Practices. It is not freeware, and may not be distributed to others. To install this software, you will need to supply a keyword from the book.
Downloading and Installation Instructions
1. Download the geotechnical analysis software files from the Prentice Hall website by clicking here. Save this self-extracting .zip file to your C: drive.
2. Double clicking on this file will unzip the files and save them to a new folder, "geotechsoft."
2. Using Windows Explorer, open the "geotechsoft" folder and double-click on setup.exe. The setup routine will then decompress the files and place them in a permanent folder on your hard drive. By default, the files are placed in c:\program files\geotechnical analysis software, but you may choose to place them in some other folder. The setup routine also places an item "Geotechnical Analysis Software" under the Start button - Programs.
3. Click on the Windows Start button, then go to Programs and to Geotechnical Analysis Software. This will start the software. Alternatively, you can use Windows Explorer and double click on c:\program files\geotechnical analysis software\geotechnical analysis software.exe.
4. Delete the "geotechsoft" folder created in Step 2.
5. The first time you run the software, you will be asked to input a keyword from the book. This will complete the installation process. Then follow the instructions on the screen to reach the main menu.
Uninstallation Instructions
To remove the geotechnical analysis software from your computer, click on the Windows Start button, then go to Settings and Control Panel. Once the control panel window appears on the screen, select Add/Remove Programs. Select Geotechnical Analysis Software and click on Add/Remove.

Ensoft GROUP 7.0
GROUP has been well accepted as an useful design tool for analyzing the behavior of piles in a group subjected to both axial and lateral loadings. The program was developed to compute the distribution of loads (vertical, lateral, and overturning moment in up to three orthogonal axes) from the pile cap to piles arranged in a group. The piles may be installed vertically or on a batter and their heads may be fixed, pinned, or elastically restrained by the pile cap. The pile cap may settle, translate, and/or rotate and is assumed to act as a rigid body.
The program will generate internally the nonlinear response of the soil, in the form of t-z and q-w curves for axial loading, in the form of p-y curves for lateral loading and in the form of t-r curves for torsional loading. A solution requires iteration to accommodate the nonlinear response of each pile in the group model. Program GROUP solves the nonlinear response of each pile under combined loadings and assures compatibility of geometry and equilibrium of forces between the applied external loads and the reactions of each pile head.
The p-y, t-z, q-w and t-r curves may be generated internally, employing recommendations in technical literature, or may be entered manually by the user. The pile-head forces and movements are introduced into equations that yield the behavior of the pile group in a global coordinate system. The program can internally compute the deflection, bending moment, shear, and soil resistance as a function of depth for each pile.
For closely-spaced piles, the pile-soil-pile interaction can be taken into account by introducing reduction factors for the p-y curves used for each single pile. As an option, the user can ask the program to generate internally some suggestions for p-multipliers to automatically reduce the soil resistance. In GROUP v7.0 the program is able to generate or lets users specify p-y reduction factors for two orthogonal axes.
GROUP v7.0 GROUP v7.0 now allows the user to select a new option for computing the required unit side friction at the top and bottom of each soil layer along with a unit tip resistance. The new version employs commonly-accepted equations to compute internally the estimated unit side friction and unit tip resistance based on the soil properties that are specified by the user for each soil layer.
The new version still allows the user to input external nonlinear curves of axial load versus settlement for each pile in the group. Those external curves can be obtained by the user based on load tests or using the Ensoft programs APILE and/or SHAFT.

Upres is for designing tunnels and pipe lining using Dr. H. Einstein's method ("Improved Design of Tunnel Supports," prepared for the U.S. Department of Transportation, 1980). Tunnel can calculate the stress redistribution in soil, the moment, the thrust, and the deflection in pipe or tunnel. Full slip (friction between soil and structure) or no slip conditions are considered. Moment and thrust diagrams can be viewed and printed.
Upres is suitable for most elastic closed form models such as pipe and circular tunnel lines buried underground. The structural materials can be concrete, wood, shotcrete, brick, and steel. The structure can be built by segment panels, an I-beam and lagging system, or a continuous circular system. Even though the program is an elastic solution, the results match very well with a solution of Finite Element Analysis, which requires complicated inputs and calculations.

Dynamic Analysis With this option, the full dynamic response of a system may be modeled in the time domain. نحوه نصب
در برنامه plaxis اگر از شما خواسته شد registration disk فایل USERDEF.PUF از فولدر پلکسیز
براوز کنید
در هنگام نصب این گزینه را انتخاب کنید personal computer installation
سپس اگر در جایی از شما hardlock drivers خواسته شد آن را از فولدر برنامه نصب کنید
بعد از نصب ورژن 8.2 کرک را از فولدرcrack update v8.2 با فایل های batch.exe, geo.exe, plaxout.exe, hlvdd.dll به محل نصب بریزید
ابتدا فایل hlvdd.dll از مسیر windows/system32 پاک کرده سپس فایل hlvdd.dll را از فولدر کرک جایگزین آن کنید
سپس از لینک زیر آپدیت برنامه را در ورژن 8.5 دریافت کنید.

hardlock drivers را نصب کنید

SHAFT is used to compute the axial capacity and the short-term, load versus settlement curves of drilled shafts in various types of soils. SHAFT v5.0 can analyze drilled-shaft response in six types of strata: i) clay - cohesive geomaterial, ii) sand - cohesionless geomaterial, iii) clay-shale, iv) strong rock, v) gravel - cohesionless IGM, and vi) weak rock - cohesive IGM. The program allows for any combination of soil layers to be placed in a layered profile.
SHAFT features an approach known as concurrent engineering, where input, processing, and graphical output are performed from a single environment. An additional simple text-file, containing the complete output listing, is also computed in every computer run.
The analytical methods employed by SHAFT are based on experimental data obtained from hundreds of well-instrumented load tests of full-sized drilled shafts. New criteria for soil response of gravel and weak rock were modeled after papers of recent publication.
In general, most of the analytical methods used by SHAFT are based on suggestions from the latest FHWA manual Drilled Shafts: Construction Procedures and Design Methods by L. C. Reese and M. W. O’Neill, published in November of 1999. This manual was produced under sponsorship and contract from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and is distributed by the International Association of Foundation Drilling Contractors.
LIST OF FEATURES
SHAFT allows users to investigate capacities of drilled shafts of different diameters thus helping on the selection of most economical sizing. The new SHAFT v5.0 extends this option of multiple diameters to drilled shafts socketed into weak rock or gravel.
The program features a second-generation, windows-based module that combines in a single interface the input of data, the processing of mathematical computations, and the graphical display of information contained in the output file.
The program analyzes straight as well as belled shafts.
The new SHAFT v5.0 can analyze drilled shafts or grouted piles with diameters smaller than 12 inches.
Separate factors of safety may be specified by the user for side resistance and for end bearing. The new SHAFT v5.0 now graphs output results based on Ultimate and/or Factored loadings.
The user may manually input lengths of shaft at the top and/or bottom with neglected friction of resistance in order to account for possible moisture change or for other factors noted in the user manual.
SHAFT allows for the computation of soil resistance to uplift forces. The program can use any reduction factor specified by the user for friction of transfer in uplift of straight shafts.
The program produces tables of values or graphs, as a function of depth, for a variety of soil profiles, showing capacities in side resistance and in end bearing, along with the sum of the two. The theoretical volume of concrete is also shown for each depth.
A short-term, load-settlement curve may be computed for drilled shafts of a specific length.
Iterative techniques are employed in solving the nonlinear finite-difference equations.
The user manual of SHAFT v5.0 includes the latest equations recommended in FHWA manuals. The theory for the methods of analysis is fully presented, along with the recommended technical procedures. Example problems are supplied for reference. More than thirty additional technical references are listed to provide additional information on the methods employed in SHAFT.

Unwedge is a 3D stability analysis and visualization program for underground excavations in rock containing intersecting structural discontinuities. In addition to allowing for simple point and click geometry input/editing, Unwedge provides enhanced support models for bolts, shotcrete and support pressures, the ability to optimize tunnel orientation and an option to look at different combinations of three joint sets based on a list of more than three joint sets. Unwedge uses a new analysis engine based on Goodman and Shi's block theory, which includes the ability to incorporate induced stress around the excavation and the effect on stability, new strength models such as Barton-Bandis and Power Curve, and the ability to improve the scaling and sizing of wedges.

How does one input information to the SHORING programs?
Two types of input are commonly used for SHORING: soil pressure diagrams and parameters.
The pressure diagram input is based on the configuration of pressures on the wall. These diagrams are constructed by determining active pressure, passive pressure, surcharge pressure, and water pressure based on soil conditions, soil parameters, and surface loads. The pressure diagrams must be constructed by the user before inputting them to the program. Use of pressure diagrams for input allows maximum flexibility for handling differing field situations and wall configurations. Our SHORING program uses pressure diagram input. The graphical presentation in the programs provides an immediate visual representation of the pressure diagrams so they can be checked rapidly for accuracy.
Shoring Suite Plus also supports parameter input. For the soil parameter input, soil physical properties (such as friction, unit weight and cohesion) and wall configuration (e.g., water table, wall height, surcharge load) are entered. You have to use Epres to input the information, then Epres will generate the pressure diagram for the SHORING program. These two programs are tightly integrated for data translation.
What are the output results of the SHORING program?
The output from the SHORING program includes:
* Reaction force for each brace, or tieback force for each anchor.
* Minimum embedment for soldier piles or sheet piles.
* Shear forces and moment of the pile at each span (between braces) and the maximum moment. This allows selection of the pile section based on maximum moment.
* Diagrams of pressures, shear, moment and deflection.
* Optimum selection of pile/beam from database.
What does the EarthPres program do?
Since the SHORING program uses pressure diagram input, one must determine the active and passive pressures before they can be entered. For level surfaces or infinite slopes, active and passive pressures can be calculated easily using Rankin's or Columb's equations or charts. However, if the ground surface is irregular, (i.e. two or more stages of slope), the determination of soil pressure is difficult. Sometimes empirical methods or conservative assumptions are made to solve the problems. Epres searches the failure surface to accurately determine the active or passive pressures on a wall. Wall friction, wall buttresses, and a complex ground surface can be accounted for. Epres is a very useful tool for the SHORING program. The data from Epres can be automatically translated to SHORING.
What does the Surcharge program do?
If there are surcharge loads on the ground surface near the wall, they produce additional lateral pressures on the wall which must be considered in the analysis. Lpres can determine the lateral pressure on a wall caused by different types of surcharges: point loads, strip loads, area loads, or combinations of these loads. The results are output in the form of a pressure diagram. The program is very useful for the design of retaining or shoring walls, and is another very useful adjunct tool for the SHORING program. The data from Lpres can be automatically translated to SHORING.
Does the SHORING program require EarthPres and Surcharge?
Both Epres and Lpres are stand-alone programs, which can be used for many geotechnical and construction problems. The SHORING program does not require Epres and Lpres. Without the two programs, you have to construct all the pressures yourself and input them to SHORING. We recommend that you purchase these two programs with the SHORING program, as they will increase your capability to easily solve problems with complex situations.

نرم افزار UDEC(Universl Distinct Element Code) يك برنامه تحليل عددي دو بعدي است كه بر مبناي روش المانهاي مجزا براي تحليل مكانيك سنگي محيطهاي ناپيوسته تهيه شده است .اين نرم افزار واكنش يك محيط ناپيوسته (به عنوان مثال سنگ تكتونيزه و شديدا درزه دار) را در برابر بارهاي استاتيكي و ديناميكي شبيه سازي مي كند.اين نرم افزار محيط سنگي را به عنوان مجموعه اي از بلوكهاي مجزا تعريف مي كند كه ناپيوستگي ها (مثل درزه ها ) به عنوان شرايط مرزي بين بلوكي در آنها عمل مي كنند و جابجائي برشي در امتداد اين ناپيوستگي هاو نيز چرخش بلوكها مي تواند انجام گيرد.در اين نرم افزار امكان تعريف بلوكها بصورت صلب و تغيير شكل پذير وجود دارد .بلوكهاي تغيير شكل پذير به شبكه اي از المانهاي با تفاوت محدود تقسيم بندي شده و هر المان با رفتار تنش –كرنش خطي يا غير خطي از پيش تعيين شده اي عمل مي كند .
حركت نسبي ناپيوستگي ها نيز با روابط خطي و يا غير خطي نيرو –جابجائي در امتداد عمودي يا برشي ناپيوستگي ها پوشش داده مي شود .UDEC داراي چند مدل رفتاري براي مواد دست نخورده و ناپيوستگي ها مي باشد كه مدلسازي ناپيوستگي ها را با شرايط موجود زمين شناسي وفق مي دهد.
UDEC براساس محاسبات لاگرانژين عمل مي كند كه براي تغيير شكلها و جابه جائييهاي بزرگ مورد استفاده قرار مي گيرد.اين نرم افزار با سرعت محاسبه بالا براي مدلهايي با چند هزار بلوك طراحي شده است و حل مسايل در آن با پيشرفت در پله هاي زماني صورت مي گيرد.
اين نرم افزار 950 كيلو بايت فضا اشغال كرده و تحت سيستم عامل
MS-DOS اجرا مي شود و حداقل به 4 مگابايت RAM براي اجرا نياز دارد .اين نرم افزار مدلي با بيش از 2500 بلوك صلب (1000 بلوك تغيير شكل پذير )را با 8 درجه آزادي براي هر بلوك در يك كامپيوتر شخصي با 4 مگابايت RAM حل مي كند .البته ورسيون جديد اين نرم افزار تحت 3DEC نيز موجود مي باشد كه توانايي حل مسايل تحليلي سه بعدي را نيز فراهم ساخته است.
قبل از آشنايي بيشتر با اين نرم افزار برخي از مزايا و معايب اين نرم افزار را بيان مي كنيم :
مزاياي برنامه UDEC را مي توان به صورت زير خلاصه كرد :
1-شبيه سازي مهندسي معمولا شامل مراحل طولاني از عمليات نظير تعيين تنش برجا،به كاربردن بارها،حفر تونلها ونصب نگهداري مي باشد. در برنامه UDEC يك سري از دستورات ورودي (از فايل ورودي يا صفحه كليد) كه با مراحل فيزيكي فوق انطباق دارد استفاده مي شود .
2- فايلهاي ورودي نوشتاري مفاهيم خوبي براي ثبت مدارك مربوط به يك تحليل در يك مساله مهندسي مي باشند .
3-فايل داده ها مي تواند به راحتي با يك ويرايشگر متن تهيه شود.
و چندين فايل داده را مي توان پشت سر هم جواب گرفت.
4-ساختمان با فرمان پيشرونده UDEC امكان ويرايش برنامه هاي خروجي و ورودي را بدون خروج از برنامه به استفاده كننده مي دهد.
5-با توجه به حل مساله در پله هاي زماني متوالي مي توان با وارد كردن زمان نتايج قابل توجهي به دست آورد .
از مشكلات و معايب اين نرم افزار مي توان به موارد زير اشاره كرد:
1-اين نرم افزار سيستم عامل MS-DOS اجرا مي شود و علاوه براين از نوع نرم افزار هاي Commond-line است و بر خلاف برخي نرم افزار ها مثل PHASES يا DIPS اين برنامه بدون منو مي باشد و ورسيون تحت ويندوز اين نرم افزار موجود نمي باشد،اين امر باعث شده كه كار با اين نرم افزار وقت گير باشد و نياز به تسلط بر فرامين اين نرم افزار براي كار با آن واجب است.
2- سرعت پايين محاسباتي اين نرم افزار به خصوص در محاسبات براي بلوكهاي تغير شكل پذير و در مدلهايي با بلوكهاي فراوان.(حل يك مساله با حدود 1000 بلوك صلب در يك و نيم ميليون سيكل حدود 4 تا 5 ساعت به طول مي انجامد)
3-گاهي اوقات در هنگام بروز مشكل اين برنامه به جاي صدور پيغام خطا به اصطلاح مي پرد يا از دور خارج مي شود.به عنو.ان مثال مي توان به مشكل همپوشاني (Overlap) بلوكها اشاره كرد.
4- عدم وجود خاصيت Autosave در اين نرم افزار باعث شده تا مشكلاتي در ذخيره محاسبات انجام شده ،در اثر قطع برق يا مشكلات خود برنامه به وجود آيد(دستور Save بايد براي ضبط محاسبات و تحليل ها به كار رود.)
فايل اجرايي اين نرم افزار UDEC.EXE نام دارد و داده ها واطلاعات ورودي بهتر است در يك ويرايشگر متن مثل notepad آماده شود و سپس با پسوند DAT ذخيره گردد تا به هنگام لزوم براي حل مساله فراخواني شود.

This software uses the 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT). Additonal system requirements are listed in Appendix C.
This software is available only to owners of the book Geotechnical Engineering: Principles and Practices. It is not freeware, and may not be distributed to others. To install this software, you will need to supply a keyword from the book.
Downloading and Installation Instructions
1. Download the geotechnical analysis software files from the Prentice Hall website by clicking here. Save this self-extracting .zip file to your C: drive.

2. Double clicking on this file will unzip the files and save them to a new folder, "geotechsoft."
2. Using Windows Explorer, open the "geotechsoft" folder and double-click on setup.exe. The setup routine will then decompress the files and place them in a permanent folder on your hard drive. By default, the files are placed in c:\program files\geotechnical analysis software, but you may choose to place them in some other folder. The setup routine also places an item "Geotechnical Analysis Software" under the Start button - Programs.
3. Click on the Windows Start button, then go to Programs and to Geotechnical Analysis Software. This will start the software. Alternatively, you can use Windows Explorer and double click on c:\program files\geotechnical analysis software\geotechnical analysis software.exe.
4. Delete the "geotechsoft" folder created in Step 2.
5. The first time you run the software, you will be asked to input a keyword from the book. This will complete the installation process. Then follow the instructions on the screen to reach the main menu.
Uninstallation Instructions
To remove the geotechnical analysis software from your computer, click on the Windows Start button, then go to Settings and Control Panel. Once the control panel window appears on the screen, select Add/Remove Programs. Select Geotechnical Analysis Software and click on Add/Remove.

FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) is a powerful two-dimensional continuum code for modeling soil, rock and structural behavior. Used interactively or in batch mode, FLAC is a general analysis and design tool for geotechnical, civil, and mining engineers that can be applied to a broad range of problems in engineering studies. The explicit finite difference formulation of the code makes FLAC ideally suited for modeling geomechanical problems that consist of several stages, such as sequential excavation, backfilling and loading The formulation can accommodate large displacements and strains and non- linear material behavior, even if yield or failure occurs over a large area or if total collapse occurs.

NEW FEATURES
Full Graphics Interface - new graphical interface, the (Graphical Interface for Itasca Codes), makes all features in available by using graphical tools. (The command-line input is still available.) New features in the include: a grid library that helps users create common types of geo-engineering grids (e.g., retaining walls, slopes, tunnels, dams); use of digitized plots or imported graphics files to guide the grid generation graphically; and access to a database of material properties.
All commands that are available to users in previous versions of FLAC are now accessible via menu- and mouse-driven operations in the GIIC. The command-line output of the code is available for viewing via a pane in the GIIC. Through the use of multi-paned windows that may be re-sized or minimized, users can customize the modeling environment to match their individual needs and preferences.
The GIIC is a JAVA-based application that runs independently of the modeling code; data are exchanged directly between FLAC and the GIIC, allowing the user to obtain and manipulate model results without interfering with the solution process. Eventually, all Itasca codes will accessible with the GIIC.
Double-Precision Arithmetic Version - Version 4.0 includes a double-precision executable code as well as a single-precision code. The double-precision version provides more accurate solutions for cases in which the accumulated value of a variable after many thousands of timesteps is much larger than the incremental change in the variable (e.g., an accumulated value for displacement that is roughly six orders of magnitude larger than the incremental value in a creep calculation). The double-precision version is also recommended for models with grids containing zones with coordinates that are large compared to typical zone dimensions.
Two-Phase Flow and Capillary Effects - Available as a new optional feature, Version 4.0 can perform fluid flow and fully coupled simulations in which two immiscible fluids (with optional capillary pressure) are present within a porous medium. Two-phase flow processes and capillary effects have important applications in fields as diverse as the oil industry (gas drive), agriculture (flow in the vadose zone), pollution control, radioactive waste disposal and slope stability. In the FLAC formulation, the two fluids are considered slightly compressible (i.e. spatial variations of densities are neglected). The capillary pressure and relative permeability laws are built-in functions of the van Genuchten form. The non-linear partial differential equations for two-phase flow are solved using an explicit finite difference scheme with upstream weighting technique. The mechanical coupling uses Bishops effective stresses, and solid grains are assumed to be incompressible, as in previous FLAC versions.
Ability to link to other Itasca codes via TCP/IP connection - Data can be passed rapidly between two or more Itasca codes running on the same machine or on separate machines with a network connection. The upcoming versions of PFC and FLAC3D also allow such coupling, and the same facility will exist in new versions of other codes, as they become available. One example application involves embedding a PFC particle assembly within a FLAC grid, thus providing an efficient continuum boundary condition for the PFC assembly. The data transmission between codes is invoked by FISH functions that allow large arrays of data to be exchanged with single function calls.
New Printing and Movie Facilities - Version 4.0 can generate graphics files in several industry standard formats: BMP, EMF, JPEG, DXF and PCX in addition to PostScript. These formats are invoked through the SET plot command. Also, a new movie viewer program (MOVIE.EXE) is provided as a Windows application. The MOVIE command now works with the Windows version of FLAC and controls the capture of screen plots as a set of PCX images that are viewed with MOVIE.EXE.
