Color Elite is device that aims to replace paper and fabric swatches that is used in the paint industry today. It is the combination of e-paper technology, a camera and the Internet. Together they combine to provide you the exact shade or colors you are looking for, and even help reduce the use of paper. The explanatory video shows us how easy it is to use this device to pick shades from everyday scenarios (like leaves) and match it to the e-swatches. Super convenient and awesome use of technology!

While we still marvel at the concept of bendy phones and ones that are transparent, it’s time to welcome a genre that twists and can be easily manipulated to fit your ergonomic form. HumanForm is a an project by Nokia Design and Nokia Research Center and explores the promise of nanotechnology and emotional interactions in a dynamically flexible device that goes beyond being just another touch screen. It features voice communication where technology is invisible and intuition takes over! The following video explains it all…
HumanForm and a follow-up Nokia Kinetic Device prototype were launched in Nokia World 2011.

A quick fix to great coffee on the go is the Spoonin. It’s a coffee mix sachet where the stirrer is fashioned from the sealing seam of the package. I like it for its hygienic option, plus a person like me always carried my brand of instant fix on travels. This packaging can come handy as individual sachets to carry.

German company E-volo has developed a working prototype of a human carrying transportation device.
Powered by sixteen
electric propellers, E-volo multicopter can take off and land like a helicopter. Simple joystick allows the pilot to control the aircraft.

Hole Punch Binder is a combination of a punch machine and a binder; basically office equipment that will make filing sheets a whole lot easier! Writing paperwork and maintaining files is quite an art and if anything helps to make the process easy, should be applauded. Thankfully all my sheets are digital documents and am saved from all this hassle!

The Fire Formula is a cool fire extinguisher where the chemicals can be mixed together on location in a jiffy. Apparently you can choose the amount of water and carbon dioxide combo that you require and douse the flame. However I like it more for its designer appeal. It looks way better than the traditional extinguishers and borders on being classy!

If you use a Bluetooth headset you know that it can be a bit awkward putting it on and taking it off, especially when you’re struggling to answer a call in time. The Angle uses an ingenious sliding technique that allows users to transfer the headset from the phone’s case directly onto the ear in one easy gesture while simultaneously activating the call.
The middle part of the case acts as a charger and restores energy to the headset at the same time the phone is charging.

The Edge Drop is not rocket science! It is a simple redesign of the paint can to ensure that you pour out all the paint into the mixing bucket without spilling any. Similar to the spout of a jug, the inward niche on the rim looks to be a practical solution and something that can make a difference. What do you think?

The Urban Hotel is a very well thought-out solar-powered ‘green’ hotel. It features rainwater recycling system and a bicycle in each room, to help visitors explore the city. Now the cool thing here is that there is a specific slot in the room to place the bike and you can use it as an exercise cycle. Stored kinetic energy from it gets converted to electricity and helps power small gadgets and lights. If you get enthusiastic enough, for all you know, you could end up renting the room for free! Apparently all your pedaled miles get converted to energy savings and can be redeemed against the room rent. Sweet!

Here’s a simple but clever expandable coffee table. Two of the six sides of the cube are paneled. By flipping the cube over, you can unlock the panels to form an extension. Now you’ve got a longer coffee table! Perfect for seating too.
