Ultrasonic Dryer looks at slashing your electricity bills drastically by regulating energy consumption and methodology. The dryer uses an ultrasonic atomizer system in place of the traditional electric heating system to vaporize residual moisture in clothes. As a result, mist is formed and can be cooled and collected as recycled water. The idea looks good enough to explore and I love the user-friendly design, which brings the machine drum up to the user-height rather than them bending down to load in the clothes.

Though the brand may be nearing its end, Swedish automaker SAAB will always be remembered for producing and advancing the technology of jet fighters still in use today. An ode to SAAB’s rich history, this coupe concept takes inspiration (and name) from the Viggen fighter, mimicking its lines, glass cockpit canopy and overall clean design.

The Arrow concept looks at starting a trend amongst teens, where they get hooked to sticking these glow-in-the-dark arrow-tattoos, which double up as hand signals for night time cycling. The socially responsible message is evident and I think the ‘cool quotient’ is good enough to lure sensible and safe riding practices. Love it!

The U-CAN, inspired by the elephant’s super-functional trunk, features an extended tactile spout and built-in wheels on either side of its reservoir that make it easy to pull from gardening area to gardening area. Usable by adults, children and seniors alike, this functional design is particularly useful to users with limited mobility or strength by preventing injuries and exhaustion.

One of the greatest pleasures of summer is to find a busted fire hydrant and experience the cooling water spray; simply enjoying the moment. With this proposed new design, taking advantage of a hydrant won’t be so easy thanks to the tamper proof top, which requires a deep socket to operate the valve. Like the design team explains, “The goal was to apply a contemporary and functional design aesthetic, creating a form that would be instantly recognizable.” Well done!

If my trainer wasn’t so hot, I’d totally invest in a prototype!This humanoid robot has articulated joints and can mimic any human movement with ease, speed, and precision. To navigate, the bot uses a 3D video camera, scanner, and thermal camera located behind its helmet visor.
Like a professional human trainer, Gymbot will evaluate your heart rate, track your diet, the efficiency of your workouts, and even yell at you when you’re being lazy!

If you search for oil spill damages on google, you will certainly get anxious knowing the horrible harm it is doing to our environment. The situation gets worse when the oil spill occurs due to explosion on oil fields situated in sea surfaces where removing the oils become almost impossible. System for effectively combating oil slick has been designed to reinforce maritime emergency fighters to face massive oil spill situations. Several units of this system are envisioned to be stored in airports near the seashore that can be dropped in the desired spot through aircrafts. As soon as the system hits the oil surface, a symmetric system of tubes gets radically inflated under water through a gas cartridge. A finely woven net gets stretched up by the tubes and bonds oil without any chemicals. Finally, these systems can be retrieved by boats by hitching the ring like binding. Each system can cover up to 2000 square meter area under any weather condition. To make it even more functional, radar reflectors and GPS have been incorporated with the system for easy locating and ultrasonic sounds to keep seabirds away.

Eco-Bench, produced from recyclable materials, is a very practical seating group with its’ ease of assembly and stocking. We’re not sure why this bench is not part of Ecoseries furniture set, while it has the similarity with other furniture pieces. The simple, elegant, and light weight components of the product, which fit into one box, shows its’ respect for nature.

Utilizing the technique of distillation, Watertube can provide sanitary water to many people in remote area. It is a handy tool not just to filter but also store the water for future use. We are going to face water shortage issue if we don’t have better water management strategies because we use water faster than it can be replaced. Yes, we know that 75% of our Earth’s surface is covered by water, however, do you know that only 2.5% of it is fresh water? And only 0.3% of that water can be found on the surface such as river and lakes, while the rest is buried deep in the ground.

This doughnut-shaped container can be used to collect, distill and store water. It consists of two chambers with a central gap in which user can fill this container with water from the nearest river. The water distils from the top chamber and circulates down to the lower chamber, where it is stored and extracted through a tap. The rubber top with slight curve allows Watertube to be carried comfortably on user’s head. The container’s central cavity allows it to be hung such as on a tree branch, with the tap positioned at the lowest point.

This station can use completely renewable energy or as a hybrid system with diesel generator. Mobile station PROMETHEUS has also been designed to produce drinkable water from water or river.If there is problem with water station, the operator can utilize Atmospheric Water Generator which can produce up to 700l of potable water per 24h. The main station body looks like an off-road truck, and it’s detachable, therefore it can be connected with other stations providing together more power and water supply, perfect for military purposes.

The main inspiration of Comb Multifolding Wheelchair came from the limitation of space which will be unavoidable in the future. This concept wheelchair features innovative folding mechanism that enables its user to easily store when not in use or when traveling by car. This industrial designer plans to use ultra light yet very durable materials (such as aluminum, carbon fiber or titanium) to construct this wheelchair. If you take a look at its seat structure, you’ll understand where the “Comb” name came from.
Comb Multifolding Wheelchair design applies ground-breaking approaches which enables its user to fully adjust this wheelchair for ultimate comfort and convenience of sitting. It is possible to adjust almost everything, from front seat height, rear seat height, front caster angle, back rest angle, backrest height to foot rest length.

The Mobi electric folding wheelchair is a powered mobility device designed to meet the lifestyle requirements of our aging population. Mobi reflects the future of products for an aging population. Stylish and convenient, it offers urban mobility alternative to bulky, generic electric scooters.
For added versatility, the design of the wheelchair features an innovative folding mechanism that allows it to be folded up and stored and transported in a vehicle without any need for disassembly. To encourage user independence and promote the user to be physically active, Mobi electric folding wheelchair is controlled similarly to a traditional manual wheelchair; the user pushes on the hand rims. However, force sensors in the hand rims detect the user’s physical exertion and add additional power to the wheels. This means Mobi makes physical movement easier in a similar fashion to power steering in a car.

This electric wheelchair incorporates self-balancing Segway-inspired technology that positions that keeps the user in the centre of gravity while balancing on two wheels. The elimination of the need for castor wheels leads to more compact and manoeuvrable vehicle. Rechargeable lithium ion batteries power the electric servo motors located in the base of each of the hubless wheels, giving Mobi a range of approx. 20km with one charge.
Mobi electric folding wheelchair features other notable design innovations intended to make assisted movement a more pleasurable and confident experience. The wheelchair features bigger, 26” tyres for improved comfort. Integrated handrest/wheel guards protect the users’s clothing from tyres. Wider ergonomic pushrims also allow an easier grip. To improve user confidence and safety automatic kickstands deploy when footrests are shifted upwards while standing out of or sitting into the seat.

It certainly provides unique experience to its driver. There’s no steering wheel, user will drive this car using a joystick, we bet your kids can drive this vehicle easily. Inspired by puzzles and tangram (ancient Chinese puzzle), Sanjin Halilovic has come up with disOrder furniture concept. This concept consists of multi-functional objects where users can tailor them in a way to create a new object based on their needs. The main objective of this project is to develop multifunctional objects that can serve for different usage, from shelving system, tv stand, work desk, etc. Users can arrange these objects based on their available space as well as their activities (relax, work, or to keep things). In this way, even though you have less space, you still be able to have a wide variety of furniture.

FORM
In terms of the shape, the pure geometric forms are used and they were made as a result of the finished research. The form of disOrder furniture project can be interpreted in two different ways. In its basis, i.e. construction of the project there are five compatible elements which make a constructive form, modular shelving system.
Deconstructing the shelving system one gets five usable objects such as a desk, chairs, and mini tables. The form of each element is pure, geometrical, interwoven with the lines which are compatible with one another, and in that way elements have constructive-deconstructive abilities.
COMPOSITION
As in was already mentioned, the system is made of five compatible elements which has rectangular base. From that base there are lines in different directions and that makes the form dynamic. The central part of the composition is the desk, which from its left and right side leans on the chairs and mini tables. When one puts these elements in one piece they form a shelving system. The central part (desk) dominates the composition, while the left and the right side make the balance, i.e. close this system into the rectangular base.
The disOrder furniture system of five elements can be separated in order to make shelving system as 3+2, depending on the space disposition or the demands of the user (variants are shown in the drawings).

COLOR
Each element is white. That color is pure and neutral, while the sides of all elements have different color. Those colors are: red, yellow, green and black, and all of them make visual difference among the elements and give more dynamic note to the disOrder furniture.
Multifunctionality
Elements of the system Disorder Furniture are modular. When they are together they make the shelving system, and when one separates them, each object gats its function, and in that way it becomes multifunctional (from the shelving system to the desk, chair, and vice versa).

The Campcraft offers a more intimate experience with the great outdoors than other watercraft that enclose you inside of a hull. Meant for cruising and camping along rivers and inland lakes, the Campcraft offers better stability, adaptable storage and dual use table and chairs.
On the manufacturing end, the pontoons were designed to be identical so only one mold would be needed to make all the pontoons.

Blessed with uninterrupted power supply in a city like Mumbai, its ironic that the capital city of New Delhi has to rely on invertors because of the frequent outages. Lights, fans and appliances are no longer the basics, it’s stuff like cellphones, laptops and portable devices that demand energy consumption in a average household. Addressing this need to bridge the gap of supply and consumption is the Ovia, a power reserve that illuminates and juices up devices when needed.

The Tech Addict concept takes inspiration from some of nature’s most cleverly evolved creatures, applying their unique super-senses to modern technology to enhance our own human abilities. Use radar like a bat, have a 280 degree view of surroundings like a chameleon, or even disguise your voice as a bird’s song!
Bat Earphone- earphones with built-in reverse radar that detect nearby objects and display them on a visor so the user can be totally engaged their other gadgets (like a cell phone or iPad) and still maintain awareness of their surroundings.
Chameleon Eye Glasses- glasses with internal moving, reflective components that make it possible to look in different directions at the same time or monitor areas outside normal range without moving the head.
Sparrow Ring- not a ring you’d wear on your finger, but a conical device that helps keep conversations private and surrounding people undisturbed by phone conversations. Hold the device near the mouth when speaking on the phone and it will emit what sounds like a bird’s song (best for outside, of course).

Housed within 55,000 glaciers in the Himalaya Mountains sits 40 percent of the world’s fresh water. The massive ice sheets are melting faster due to climate change, posing possible dire consequences for Asia, especially for the villages and cities that sit on the seven rivers fed from the Himalayas. The Himalaya Water Tower is a skyscraper located high in the mountain range that serves to store water and helps regulate its dispersal to the land below as the mountains’ natural supplies dry up.
The skyscraper, which can be replicated en masse, will collect water during the rainy season, purify it, freeze it into ice and store it for future use. The water distribution schedule will evolve with the needs of residents below.
The lower part of the Himalaya Water tower is comprised of six stem-like pipes that curve and wind together and collect and store water. Like the stem of a plant, these pipes grow strong as they absorb their maximum water capacity. In each of the six stems, a core tube is flanked by levels of cells, which hold the water. The upper part of the building – the part that is visible above the snow line – is used for frozen storage. Four massive cores support steel cylindrical frames that, like the stems below, hold levels that radiate out, creating four steel tubes filled with ice. In between the two sections are mechanical systems that help freeze the water when the climatic conditions aren’t able to do so, purify the water and regulate the distribution of water and ice throughout the structure.
At the bottom of the structure, surrounding the six intertwined water tubes is a transport system that regulates fresh water distribution to the towns and cities below. The curving channels connect the mountains to the villages, and are also hold within them a railway for the transport of people and goods.

The Green Air is a mass of greens that you plant atop your monitor and use it as a frequent reminder to stop and smell the flowers! I am going to skip the technical details that are well explained in the ensuing images, and focus on the fact that we do need to contemplate our workspace and environment. In a sterile office setup with mechanical schedules, placebos like a mock green patch can do wonders for productivity and our health. Green Air is just another example of how we can pep up our space.

Going weak knees outta love and romance is a good thing, but when age (or aching gym-tired muscles) catches up, even simple tasks like sitting on the toilet seat become a pain. The Stand-helping Closestool Toilet Seat features a seat with a hydraulic-powered lever function, which helps you to stand up with ease. I’d be more comfortable if the design included a hand rail to stabilize the standing-up process. Tippling over will be such a shame!

Tack pins are tack-pins: enlarged pinhead and a sharp steel protrusion that holds stuff in order. So why is there a big fuss about this design? Simple, many a nails have been chipped and sacrificed in a bid to remove them from the drawing board; mine included! Easy to Press is a redesign where the drawing pinhead makes it easy to pull out the darn thing. Saves you chipped nails and a whole lot of frustration!

To be a hundred percent safe that you don’t pick up the bad bacteria from the effects of flushing in the loo, many doctors recommend sterilizing toothbrushes on a regular basis. Fitting the bill is the In & Out Toothbrush, a brush that is easy to travel with and use. The mechanism recharges via a USB port and has a protective cap with display. Although not specified, I’m hoping the brush is not a plain manual one; the added attraction of a powered brush will be too hard to resist.

I am still coming to grips with cloud computing and storing all my data online, however this seems to be the direction the tech-world is taking and so gadgets must follow suit. We have here the Spider Computer, a portable device that relies on a projected screen and laser keyboard to offer you a ready computer on the go. It relies totally on the “cloud” factor and even doubles up as awkward phone.

Its three legs can easily be folded out, allowing it to be placed on a flat surface. The mirror head opens, and the projection is directed towards the table surface or a wall. Digital correction compensates for angular differences in projection versus surface. Working prototype was made for technology, user studies and research. When legs are folded into the body, it becomes a mobile device, used as a phone, for messages etc. Circular LCD display with graphic interface. It can be carried in your pocket and brought anywhere.

Love the simplicity of this door, which provides an emergency shelter during an earthquake. It collapses from the center to form a reinforced tent, under which you can huddle till the shockwaves subside. This door can be any door in the house and office. And if for a moment we keep aesthetics aside, just imagine how many people it can end up benefitting. Love it!

9ight vision is a multifunctional energy-saving LED bicycle lamp that offers close-range wide-angle lighting and long-range focused lighting. It allows cyclists to enjoy better and more intelligent illumination.
Bike headlamps that are currently on the market do not have adaptive lighting for both long- and short-range illumination. They usually come with one standard lighting capability. Cycling is seen as both a form of eco-friendly transportation and a sports and leisure activity. As more people take up cycling, there is a great need for more sophisticated and intelligent bicycle lighting.
9ight vision is an energy-saving LED bicycle lamp that offers close-range wide-angle lighting and long-range focused lighting. As it allows the cyclist to see both near and distant objects, 9ight vision significantly enhances safety. It is also multifunctional. It can be carried and used as a torch, with the angle of the light adjusted by turning the lens. When it is fixed onto a bike, it serves its primary function of a headlamp. It could also be useful during hiking trips, and can be easily attached to a backpack.
The aluminium body of 9ight vision can be produced in a variety of vibrant colours.

SAVE:US is an emergency downlight system for buildings that enables rapid evacuation and rescue activity when a natural disaster strikes.When natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons occur, the rapid evacuation and rescue of people is a top priority. Products that assist this aim are of critical importance. Rapid evacuation becomes difficult when the electrical supply to a building is cut, as those trapped inside may have difficulty locating the evacuation routes and exits in the dark.

During normal conditions, SAVE:US takes the appearance of a regular downlight. In an emergency situation, a flashlight with an embedded GPS module drops down like an oxygen mask in an aeroplane. The emergency light is charged by standby power during non-emergency times, and thus is always ready to use. Due to the presence of the GPS module inside the emergency flashlight, the location of an evacuee can be easily deciphered by the rescue team.

Line Show Switch offers a clear graphic depiction of the ‘on’ or ‘off’ status of a switch.
A switch controls a light or appliance by connecting or cutting a circuit loop. Line Show Switch depicts this graphically on the surface of the switch in order to communicate the ‘on’ or ‘off’ status of the switch. Drawing conventions for electrical circuit diagrams provided the inspiration for Line Show Switch. Connected or disconnected lines simply and clearly indicate whether the switch is on or off.

This pin-up system uses light not only for visual perception; it also encourages us to undertake some emotional reflection.Light Up Your Memories intends to do just that. This system for illuminated drawing pins aims to focus on the emotional aspect of human experience – something that is easily forgotten in today’s fast-paced world. Light Up Your Memories encourages the user to pause and reflect on the memories attached to the photograph or note they are pinning up.Along with the light-up pins, the system incorporates a pin-up board of insulating cork, aluminium, and acrylic (for ease of mounting). The sandwiched aluminium panel is charged with an electric current, which lights up the drawing pin when contact is made. Only the pin’s stem is able to conduct electricity; its head is non-conducting. A switch on the board controls power provision and intensity.

After Turn Off is a nightlight that uses projected light to create a fantasy world of animal friends.As children, we marvel at rainbows and delight at the chance to interact with animals. As adults, the practical realities of life take over and the delightful moments tend to gradually vanish. After Turn Off aims to bring some delight back to daily life.After Turn Off functions like a nightlight. Rather than illuminating a light fixture, however, it casts light onto the wall. After Turn Off incorporates a specially designed light switch casing, which conceals a small light source. On the top panel of the casing is a small cut-out shape through which light passes. When it hits the wall above the light switch, the light reveals a deer, bird, dog, bear, or some other creature.

Being is a lamp that reacts to human stimulation. The lamp senses what is going on around it and responds accordingly.Although technology advances rapidly, interaction between people and daily objects is still most commonly carried out in a unidirectional manner; the objects usually play a passive role in the process of interaction. Being is a lamp that offers a simple interactive technique. This imbues it with vitality.The directional movement of the hand above the lamp determines the brightness of the light emitted and the shape of the lamp. The folded skin of the lamp expands and contracts to make the lamp larger or smaller. When the user places their hand near the top of the lamp, it will react by becoming brighter and more bulbous.It will retain these settings when the hand is taken away. If the user hovers their hand over the lamp once more and gradually raises it, the lamp will react by becoming dimmer and narrower, until it finally turns off.

About the design

With a combination of Chinese traditional architecture technique and shoe making technique, the product is an innovative product that overthrows current shoemaking technology with 3 separate interlocked parts: the flexible outer structure, the integrated sole and the inner boot. The design was inspired by a vintage Chinese furniture, the SUN-MAO structure, and users can disassemble, exchange and recombine their own creation. There is no need for extra parts or technique, damaged components can be replaced individually, reducing cost. With no use of glues or chemicals, it is environmental-friendly, light-weight and comfortable.

Gully Cover Light activates the imagination and gives the visual impression of another space beneath one’s floor.There are times when life gets so busy that we might wish we could dig a hole and hide. By taking the shape of a manhole and manhole cover, Gully Cover Lightsuggests an imaginary space beneath the floor. It gives the impression that there is a refuge underfoot – a place to which we could escape.The light is turned on when the user lifts the manhole cover to reveal a white illuminated plane. Replacing the cover switches the light off. Gully Cover Lighttransfers an outdoor element to the interior, and with it, an outdoor experience.

What would we see if we were to cut open our products? This query was the starting point for the design of HIDLAMP.HIDLAMP has bright and charming exterior, but also an exuberant inner structure. A dark blue acrylic shell conceals the inner world of this lamp until it is lit. As though it has been X-rayed, the lamp’s internal structure is revealed when its central CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) is switched on. Within the blue shell, layers of transparent acrylic are arranged in a cross formation. They are etched by laser, which creates the appearance of a three-dimensional internal framework.
