Text from Niko and Georg :
Aulis Harvester – “Development of a ground protecting forest machine”
The purpose of our creation is the sustainable treatment of the forest ground and the wood, as well as the optimization of the work sequences of the user. The base of our concept is the analysis of the work flow of the service provider with the harvester, as well as the analysis of the work flow of the farmer with the forest tractor.
With this Knowledge we could develop features in the vehicle which contribute to the optimization of the work process and guarantee a lasting protecting treatment of the forest ground.

The creature guard concept is a self initiated project by car designer Nils Poschwatta, which is a futuristic vehicle that protects endangered animals as well as any kind of living being that needs emergency help. The designer has envisioned this innovative vehicle consisting of a bionic sting-ray, with the ability to fly really fast at a lower altitude, and a pilot with specially designed outfit. This ray is detachable and is interconnected to the propulsion unit through its bio-morph grip. This vehicle features a 1:4 scale model of the vehicle and the pilot by using clay.

TJ* animatronic puppet

http://www.njavan.com/weblog/images/images_2/2011/jenny/tj/tj01.jpg
'TJ*' is a mechanical puppet designed as an educational toy for kids

developed by american mechanical engineering grad student jeff kessler, 'TJ* (http://tjrobot.weebly.com/)' is a customizable robot puppet,
designed as a remote-control toy for kids or tinkering platform for budding programmers and digital artists.
the head is composed of fiberboard or coloured plastic, with two eyes that move up/down and left/right,
controlled by three micro servo motors. an optional arduino remote can be used to control 'TJ*',
or users can develop their own on any servo controller platform. record-playback for activity is built into
the device, in addition to live control.

already fully funded but still accepting pre-orders on kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jeffkessler/tj-an-animatronic-puppet), the mechanical puppet is designed to offer a toy
that grows with child users. while early ways of interaction might be decorating and creating accessories for 'TJ*',
children can then use it as a star in skits or videos, before being introduced to software development by beginning
to write code to add new functionality.

expected to be ready in june 2012, the basic DIY kit will be available for 60 USD. add-on options include an arduino
controller, coloured plastic rather than fibreboard, and LED rather than normal eyes. the next-generation 'emotive TJ*'
will feature movable eyebrows and mouth.

kessler plans to start a 'TJ*' youtube channel once the product has been released as a user-created showcase
of creative projects utilizing the puppet.

EOD/IEDD Robots and Vehiclestelerob GmbH (http://www.armedforces-int.com/suppliers/telerob-gmbh.html)Category: EOD/IEDD Robots and Vehicles (http://www.armedforces-int.com/article/category/eodiedd-robots-and-vehicles)
Jointly owned by Rheinmetall Landsystems of Kiel and Bilz group, telerob combines the financial strength and stability of a globally active technology group with the competence and flexibility of a medium-sized company. A widespread know-how in different technologies such as sensor and robotics, telemetry and data transmission as well as electric/electronic control engineering is focussed in telerob making it one of the most experienced companies inRemote Handling Technologies.
Our main focus are products for a full range of EOD and IEDD applications which enables the bomb disposal engineer to carry out his delicate task at minimum risk to life and limb. telerob has been awarded by the UK MOD to design and develop the new generation of the UK Army major EOD RCV capability!
EOD-robot tEODor
Core product is the state-of-the-art remote controlled EOD-robot tEODor . In service in more than 25 countries in the world our high tech disposal system is setting the standard in remote bomb disposal technology:

The integrated tool magazine enables the operator to carry a full set of 3 additional tools or shooting systems
The tools are exchanged automatically thus allowing the operator to concentrate on his job
An integrated, intelligent diagnostic system enables global system status analysis or remote technical support via modem or Internet
Universal interfaces enable installation of all standard ballistic devices, including the Telemach, Dynergit, Richmond RE 70, PigStick, HotRod and Remington

Following his big brother, teleMAX will set a new standard in small bomb disposal robots. Available from November 2004 this incredible system will allow operation especially in confined areas:

A four track chassis will allow extreme mobility and obstacle capability
Its world wide first TCP (Tool Center Point) control of the manipulator will reduce approach times significantly and easy operations
Thus being designed as a small robot, teleMAX will provide vertical and horizontal reach that exceeds most of the large robots

Government agencies unwilling to settle for second best can now turn to telerob for special-purpose EOD vehicles type TEL 6xx. The TEL 6xx series is a family of vehicles specially developed for executing the difficult tasks of locating, identifying and neutralising improvised explosives and incendiary devices.
They range from the Rapid Response Vehicle - a small and fast all-terrain vehicle enabling immediate action to be taken at the crime scene - to medium-sized vehicles specifically designed for a search and detection role, as well as fully equipped IED vehicles with an operational weight of up to 7.5 tons.
telerob's top of the line bomb disposal vehicles are its XL Systems, which are mounted on medium-sized trucks. Here the bomb disposal engineer will find everything he needs in order to carry out his diverse and demanding work, from simple hook-and-line sets to large and small manipulator vehicles and digital audio and video systems. Working in close co-operation with specialist manufacturers, we produce anti-fragment build-on units and air-transportable containers with an integrated set-down system.
Four different weight classes (S, M, L and XL), two different integration principles (box bodies and build-on units), two cabin sizes (standard and crew cab), as well as a variety of wheel bases see to it that no customer requirement is ever left unmet. Four-wheel drive and a host of different engine variants can all be supplied, as can loading systems and concealed signal equipment.
It goes almost without saying that we are ready and able to provide customised systems specifically tailored to the individual needs of our customers.

Carlitos’ Projects: Speech-Controlled Arduino Robot (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/articles/microcontrollers/carlitos-projects-speech-controlled-arduino-robot)Posted on March 1st, 2011 in Microcontrollers (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/articles/microcontrollers), Projects (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/articles/projects-articles), Robotics Projects (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/robotics-projects), Robots (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/articles/robots)

We all dream of having appliances and machines that can obey our spoken commands. Well, let’s take the first step towards making this happen. In this second iteration of Carlitos’ Projects, we are going to build a speech-controlled Arduino-based robot.http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Speech-Controlled-Arduino-Robot-560x448.jpg (http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Speech-Controlled-Arduino-Robot.jpg)You may be thinking that making such a robot must be a very complex task. After all, humans take many years before they can understand speech properly. Well, it is not as difficult as you may think and it is definitely lots of fun. The video below illustrates how to make your own speech-controlled Arduino rover.

This curiously fun robot design merges advanced connectivity technologies and an adorable steampunk aesthetic, making it more than just a toy but a complete interactive experience. Using an iPhone or iPad, the user can control it to play games, perform tasks or even let it interact on its own with other robots! The designer has thought of everything! An on-board camera, high quality display, multiple apps, seamless connectivity… the list goes on!
